Pratt names Randy Velasco head coach for men's soccer

BROOKLYN – Director of Athletics and Recreation Walter Rickard has announced the appointment of Randy Velasco as men's soccer head coach at Pratt Institute.

"I am looking forward to watching Randy take this program into the future,” Rickard stated. “What stood out to me is Randy's passion for the sport and his desire to coach students on and off the field. Randy’s experience building a program as a head coach will help him grow the soccer program."

Velasco comes to Clinton Hill after spending two seasons as the head women’s coach at the College of St. Elizabeth of Morristown, NJ. Prior to his position there, Velasco served as an assistant and goalkeeper coach at Kean University for six seasons. During his tenure, the Cougars finished with an overall record of 64-35-19 and captured two ECAC Championships, in 2012 and 2013.

Velasco earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education from Kean University and is currently pursuing his master's degree through the College of St. Elizabeth.
