Equestrian Team Has Strong Showing at Molloy's 42nd Annual ISHA Horse Show

MELVILLE, N.Y. - October 28, 2018 - The Pratt Institute equestrian team competed at Molloy College's 42nd Annual Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Horse Show at the Thomas School of Horsemanship on Sunday. The team had a strong performance at the show, with six of their riders placing in competition.

Eva Barnett took third place in the Intermediate Hunter Seat Equitation Over Fences portion of the show, while Cagla Gungormus placed in third in the Novice Hunter Seat Over Fences.

For the Novice Hunter Seat on the Flat competition, riders Erin Hayes, Lindsay Bellkin, and Gungormus all placed, taking second, fourth, and sixth, respectively.

Junior Ayse Ozkan took third place in the Walk Trot Hunter Seat Equitation portion.

The IHSA encompasses over 400 member colleges in 45 states and Canada and represents 10,000 members in hunter seat equitation, Western horsemanship, and reining. IHSA eliminates the expenses of horse ownership and allows more students to compete. Horses are furnished by host colleges and are chosen by drawing lots.

Up Next: The Pratt equestrian team will travel to Greenvale, N.Y. to take on LIU Post on Sunday, November 11.
