Grant named to Hudson Valley All-Conference Team
BROOKLYN -- Following a standout freshman season that landed him among the league's top players, Pratt forward Ari Grant was named to the All-Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference Team, the league announced Monday.
Grant hit the ground running in his first college campaign, instantly ranking among the league's elite. The freshman finished fifth in the HVMAC in scoring at 18.4 points per game and fifth in rebounding at 9.8 boards per game, leading Pratt in both categories. His 36.3 minutes per game led the league.
More impressively, the Denver native capped his first season in Brooklyn with seven consecutive double-doubles, culminating in a 20-point, 10-rebound effort on Tuesday against St. Joseph's. Defensively, his nine blocks led the team, placing him in the top 10 leaguewide in blocks and blocks per game, and his 1.7 steals per game ranked second on the Cannoneers.
Pratt finished 4-9 overall, coming in sixth in the Hudson Valley. The entire All-HVMAC Team is listed below.
