BROOKLYN, N.Y. – October 19, 2018 - The Pratt Institute men's soccer team fell to neighborhood rival, St. Joseph's College, Friday evening at Aviator Field, 8-0.
With the loss, the Cannoneers move to 3-10, while the Bears improve to 5-13.
In between the goal posts, Pratt's Carter Boliek registered eight saves in an eventful outing, while the opposing goalie, Alejandro Oliveros recorded three saves, as the Bears out-shot the Cannoneers 16-6.
In the first half, St. Joseph's found the back of the net twice, in the 21st and 35th minutes of play. Pratt had four shots, and a corner kick in the opening 45 minutes.
The second half yielded similar results for the Bears, as they continued to get by the Cannoneer defense. Kenneth Garcia had three consecutive goals in a twenty-minute stretch to give St. Joseph's a commanding 5-0 lead.
Late in the match, Boliek suffered a leg injury, and Pratt was forced to put Dylan Cabral in goal. The Bears scored three more times before the 90 minutes were up.
Up Next: The Cannoneers will look to finish the 2018 campaign on a positive note when they travel to Pine Manor College in Massachusetts on Saturday, October 27, for their final game of the season. Kick off is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
