Men's tennis defeated by Rutgers-Newark

NEWARK, NJ -- Pratt Institute men's tennis was defeated by the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers-Newark 9-0 on Saturday in non-conference play. 

In No. 1 singles play, Ben Erickson took the first set 6-3. As the match went to a third set tiebreaker, Erickson could not rally and fell 10-5.

After dropping the first set, 6-2, in No. 3 singles, Simon Salazar earned a second set victory, outlasting Parth Shah of Rutgers-Newark 7-6. Shah would take the third and secure victory by a score of 11-9. 

The loss levels the Cannoneer's record at 1-1.

Pratt returns to action at home next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. against Cooper Union.
