Cannoneers best Bengals, 6-3

BROOKLYN –  The Pratt Institute men's tennis team downed the Bengals from the University of Maine – Fort Kent 6-3 non-conference play on Tuesday night in the ARC.

With the results, the Cannoneers improve their overall to record to 4-5 (2-1 HVIAC).

Starting doubles play, the tandem of Simon Salazar and Johnson Meng took the point in the No. 1 position, besting Faizi Salim and Lewis Cockburn, 8-3. The pairing of Aris Azarmsa and Taeyoung Chang claimed the point in No. 2 doubles following their 8-1 victory. The Bengals would take the final doubles flight as Pratt led 2-1 entering singles action.

Playing in the No. 1 singles position for the first time this season, Simon Salazar recorded an impressive 10-2 decision. Following a Maine – Fort Kent win in No. 2 singles, Aris Azarmsa's 10-1 triumph in No. 3 singles returned the momentum back to the Cannoneers.

In what was the match of the evening, Pratt's Taeyoung Chang showed improved consistency and ball control in his 10-8 victory over the Bengal's Cesar Arroyo. The Cannoneers final point of the evening came courtesy of Leo Yang, who easily Tolu Oyeniyi 10-1 in the No. 5 position.
