EWING, NJ -- Pratt Institute's men's and women's outdoor track teams competed against over 60 teams and athletic clubs at The College of New Jersey Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Freshman Dontae Jenkins and Akil Philip paced four Cannoneers in the men's 100-meter sprint, finishing 77th and 78th, respectively, with times of 12.97 and 12.99 seconds in the 90-man field.
In the men's 400-meter, Philip placed 25th out of 75 with a time of 53.29 seconds. In the 1,500-meter run, senior Kyle O'Brien edged sophomore teammate Bubby Vernon, placing 55th and 56th, respectively, amid a crowd of 72 at 4:54.59 and 4:54.60.
On the women's side, Iyatunde Mojekodunmi led all runner in Heat No. 7 and finished 35th overall in the 100-meter dash at 14.44 seconds. Melanie Luna, meanwhile, finished 50th of 66 runners at 15.35 seconds.
In the 400-meter, Mojekodunmi finished 51st of 66 at 1:12.07.
Freshman Cory Marks placed 35th out of 50 in the shot put, throwing 7.50 meters, good for fourth of 10 in Flight No. 1.
