SCRANTON, PA – The Pratt Institute women's team opened their 2017 season by falling to a very talented and experience Scranton team on Saturday afternoon at Royal Courts.
"Even with the 9-0 rough loss to start the 2017 season, a few girls played close matches that the scores don't indicate," commented head coach David Eddy. "Scranton is a really solid team from top to bottom, and while our team gained some good match experience today, we must work harder on the practice court."
Of note, No. 3 singles, Neeka Gilardian, played a strong match before falling to Tatiana Klacko 6-2, 6-3. Also, the No. 1 doubles tandem of Amanda Twu and Melanie Kania showed their pairing holds a lot of promise for the upcoming season.
Up Next: The Cannoneers head home to Brooklyn for a Sunday tilt against the Western Connecticut State Colonials at the Pratt ARC. A noon start time is scheduled.
