Cannoneers improve to 6-0, 2-0 in HVIAC, with another shutout victory

QUEENS -- Pratt Institute bested Vaughn College 9-0 Tuesday night in Hudson Valley Athletic Confernece play, improving to 6-0 on the season and 2-0 in HVIAC play.

Co-HVIAC Players of the Week Agata Jakubowska and Sarah Conant each excelled, with Jakubowska picking up a 10-0 win over Estefanic Collazos in No. 1 singles and Conant topping Melissa Jastillana 10-5 in No. 2 singles. Conant and Jakubowska teamed to beat Collazos and Jastillana 10-0 in top doubles.

Entering the night undefeated out of the Nos. 4 and 5 slots, Pratt senior Gabriella Guerra improved to 5-0 in singles play, earning her highest win of the year in No. 3 singles by shuting out Anglea Gomez, 10-0.

Elsewhere, junior Julie Finn earned her first win of the season, knocking off Lacyrose Dickinson, 10-0 in fifth singles. Rookie junior Helena Eisenhart, the owner of two doubles victories entering the evening, picked up her first singles win as a Cannoneer, Katryn Guerredo in No. 4 singles, 10-0.
