BROOKLYN -- After being named HVIAC Player of the Week the last three weeks, Pratt freshman Agata Jakubowska was named league Rookie of the Week Tuesday morning.
In addition to a trio of Player of the Week Awards, Jakubowska's Rookie of the Week award is her second of the seaon. The Cannoneers first-year ace rebounded from her first losses on the season against Purchase State with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 No. 1 singles victory over Maleeka Chin on the road at York College on Saturday.
In doubles play, she and teammate Sarah Conant earned an 8-2 No. 1 doubles win over Chin and Joanne Ly.
On the season, Jakubowska 8-1 in top singles action and 8-1 in No. 1 doubles.
Jakubowska and the Cannoneers take on 12-1 College of Staten Island tonight at 7:00 p.m. at the USTA National Tennis Center.
