QUEENS -- John Jay College earned a 9-0 non-conference men's tennis victory over Pratt Institute Monday night at the United States Tennis Association National Tennis Center in the make-up of a match rained out on April 1.
Pratt sophomore Keshav Ramaswami (Leawood, KS) lost for the first time as a Cannoneer, as Bloodhounds sophomore Yevgeniy Remennik (Kiev, Ukraine) knocked off Ramiswami 10-2 in fifth singles. Freshman Fan Mo (Beijing, China) was edged by John Jay junior Derrick Chung (San Diego, CA), 11-10 (7-0) in third singles, and reigning Hudson Valley Rookie of the Week Moritz Petre (Middle Village, NY) fell to Bloodhounds senior Erkut Cakmak (Istabbul, Turkey) 10-0 in No. 1 singles play.
In first place in HVMAC play at 2-0, Pratt falls to 2-2 overall. With the win, John Jay improves to 6-3 on the year.
Pratt returns to the court on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in non-league play at Yeshiva University. The Bloodhounds travel to Ramapo, also in non-conference action, on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
