EDGEWATER, NJ -- Pratt Institute improved to 3-2 with an 8-1 win over Yeshiva University in non-conference men's tennis play Thursday night at the Binghamton Racquet Club.
Sophomore John Imamoglu picked up victories in first singles and first doubles, besting David Habif 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 and teaming with Jamison Hartley for an 8-7 (8-6) win over Habif and Eitan Zinberg.
The Cannoneers captured all six singles points over the Maccabees, with Moritz Petre earning a 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 second singles win over Yeshiva captain Jeremy Seftel, and Hartley handled Charles Saka 6-4, 6-1 in third singles.
Pratt's Fan Mo mowed down Meir Burk 6-3, 6-2 in fourth singles, while Andrew Barkett bested Zinberg 6-3, 7-5 in fifth singles.
Cannoneers sophomore Keshav Ramaswami came back to knock off Yeshiva freshman Akiva Katz 1-6, 6-1, 7-5 in sixth singles and teamed with senior Michael Steiner for an 8-7, 7-5 triumph over Katz and Robby Rubin.
At 3-2 overall and in first place in the Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference at 2-0, Pratt remains in non-conference play on Saturday, traveling to Lehmen College at 1:00 p.m. Yeshiva, now 7-6 on the season, plays host to Mount Saint Mary on Sunday at noon in Skyline Conference play.
