POUGHKEEPSIE, NY -- First-place Pratt Institute improved to 2-1 and 2-0 in HVMAC play with a 9-0 sweep of the Culinary Institute of America Sunday afternoon in Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference play.
Pratt's John Imamoglu earned first singles and first doubles points, besting Matt Jensen 10-5 in singles and teaming with fellow sophomore Andrew Barkett to best Jensen and Allyson Bayless 8-4 in top doubles.
The win, which keeps Pratt atop the HVMAC standings, marks the second straight match in which the Cannoneers captured all three doubles points. Barkett and junior Moritz Petre teamed for an 8-2 second doubles victory, and senior Michael Steiner and sophomore Keshav Ramaswami earned an 8-1 No. 3 doubles win over Daniel Castro and Eric Brown.
At 2-1 overall and 2-0 in Hudson Valley play, the Cannoneers have the week off before returning to play on Monday night, April 15 at 7:00 against CUNYAC foe John Jay College.
