BRONX -- The Cannoneers opened 2013 with a 7-2 win at Lehman College in non-conference women's tennis action on Saturday.
Freshman Agata Jakubowska enjoyed a stellar transition to college play, cruising to a 6-0, 6-0 win in No. 1 singles play and teaming with junior Sarah Conant for an 8-0 first doubles win. In second singles, Conant earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Lynessa George.
Senior Rachel Caires also picked up a pair of wins, topping Gabriela Harewood 6-3, 6-0 and teaming with Gabriella Guerra for an 8-2 No. 2 doubles win.
Lehman dropped to 0-4 on the season. At 1-0, Pratt returns to the court on Wednesday at John Jay College.
