FARMINGDALE, NY -- Pratt Institute (10-5) dropped its spring finale, 5-4, at Farmingdale State (15-2) Saturday afternoon in non-confernece women's tennis play.
Freshman Agata Jakubowska earned a pair of victories in top singles and top doubles play, besting Priscilla Signore 6-2, 6-0 and teaming with senior Whitney Mills for an 8-4 win over Signore and Denise Liguori. Farmingdale won four of five remaining singles matches, with senior Rose Wong capturing Pratt's only other individual win, cruising past Mercy Cleto 6-1, 6-1.
Playing in her final match as a Cannoneer, fellow senior Rachel Caires teamed with Sarah Conant for an 8-6 second doubles victory over Michelle Fredericks and Alex Bentz.
Pratt caps its 2013-14 season at 10-5 (0-3 spring), winners of a third straight Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletics Conference (HVIAC) Championship.
