QUEENS -- Pratt Institute finished its Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference campaign undefeated as regular season champions at 5-0 for a second year in a row with a 6-3 win over St. Joseph's (BK) Friday afternoon.
Sergio Yarritu earned 10-1 and 8-1 wins in No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles, respectively. Senior Moritz Petre worked a shutout in No. 2 singles, 10-0 over Kyle Johnson, and teamed with Andrew Barkett in No. 2 doubles in winning 8-0 over Johnson and Nolan Parr. Barkett, meanwhile, blanked Parr in No. 3 singles 10-0.
The win closes a second straight HVIAC campaign as regular season champions at 5-0. The Cannoneers play for a second consecutive HVIAC Championship on Saturday at the USTA National Tennis Center.
