ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, NY -- Bard College shut out Pratt Institute, 9-0, Saturday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis play.
In No. 1 singles, Bard's Kevin McDonald topped Eli Eskenazi, 6-1, 6-1. Pratt's Nick Minichiello, named Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday, fell to Ted Laport in second singles, 6-0, 6-1. Minichiello and Eskenazi were tripped up by Keillor Mose and Isaac Lertola, 8-5, in top doubles play.
Elsewhere, Lertola and Miguel Garchitorena earned 6-0, 6-0 wins in third and fourth singles, besting Fan Mo and Haotian Zhang, respectively, as Pratt snapped a four-match winning streak.
At 5-3 overall and 4-0 in HVIAC play, the Cannoneers return to play tomorrow at 12:30 against Cooper Union at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
