Men's tennis falls to 5-4 with 7-2 setback to CU

FLUSHING, NY -- Pratt Institute fell to 5-4 with a 7-2 loss to Cooper Union Sunday afternoon in non-conference men's tennis play at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. 

Juniors Eli Eskenazi and Joshua Morgan earned the Cannoneers only points on the day. Eskenazi bested Kevin Shi 10-8 in second singles, and in fifth singles, Morgan knocked off Catherine Go, 11-9. 

Regining Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week Sergio Yarritu suffered his first loss of the spring, falling to Spencer Chan, 10-5 in top singles play. HVIAC Rookie of the Week Nick Minichiello, meanwhile, suffered a 10-7 loss to Robery Godkin in fourth singles.

Pratt returns to the court on Saturday at noon, also in non-conference play, at Rutgers-Newark.
