PURCHASE, NY -- Pratt and Purchase split singles play 3-3, but a pair of doubles wins gave the Panthers a 5-4 win over the visiting Cannoneers Saturday afternoon.
Agata Jakubowska earned No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles victories, as the reigning HIVAC Player of the Week teamed with Melanie Kania for a 9-8 (10-8) top doubles win. Kania earned her first singles win as a Cannoneer, as the freshman knocked off Caroline Emmerling 6-2, 6-2 in second doubles.
Elsewhere in singles action, Neeka Gilardian earned a 6-4 (11-9) win over Catherine Pasquale, but the Panthers taking two of three doubles points proved to be the difference.
The Cannoneers return to the court on Sunday at Ramapo.
