Women's tennis blanked by Yeshiva in spring opener

BROOKLYN – Yeshiva University blanked Pratt Institute 9-0 Thursday night in non-conference spring women's tennis play at the ARC.

Maccabees singles ace Jannah Eichenbaum bested Pratt's Melanie Kania 10-5 in No. 1 singles play and paired with Tzipora Leiser for an 8-2 win over Kania and Sude Rencber in No. 1 doubles.

Leiser knocked off Rencber 10-1 in No. 2 singles, and Yeshiva's Ayala Carl beat Pratt's Cailyn Culp by the same score in No. 3 singles. In No. 2 doubles, Culp and Joan Heo fell 8-1 to Anita Levy and Andrea Weiss.

The Cannoneers round out the team's spring season a week from Sunday at home against Bard College.
