BROOKLYN –Pratt dropped a third consecutive match to open 2016, falling to CUNYAC opponent Baruch, 8-1, on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
Andrew Barkett (Mansfield, OH/Lexington) teamed with Hubert Chen (Vancouver, BC/Heritage Woods Secondary) to claim Pratt's only point of the afternoon, downing Baruch's Max Navarro and David Alabo, 8-4, in second doubles.
Baruch (7-1) claimed victories in all six singles' flights to put the Cannoneers (0-5) away.
Paul Thirouin (Houston, TX/George Washington University Online High School) suffered the first loss of his 2016 campaign, falling in first singles to Hugo Catalan, 6-3, 6-3. Thirouin and partner Nick Minichiello (Leonia, NJ/Leonia) had their first setback as a team, falling in first doubles to Hugo Catalan and Leonard Margolis, 7-2.
