MADISON, NJ -- Freshman Amanda Twu stepped up for a win in No. 1 singles and teamed with Melanie Kania for a first doubles win, but visiting Pratt fell to Fairleigh Dickinson University-Florham 7-2 in non-conference women's tennis play Sunday afternoon.
The reigning Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, Twu took care of Remy Astacio 6-3, 6-4 in top singles. She and Kania outlasted Ally Wolf and Christine Kenny 9-8, 9-7 in No. 1 doubles.
The Devils seized the bottom two doubles and final five singles sets for the 7-2 win, improving to 1-1 on the season. With the loss, the Cannoneers fall to 4-3.
Pratt returns to play on Saturday at home against College of New Rochelle at noon.
