Pratt falls to Drew in season opener

MADISON, NJ – The Pratt Institute men's tennis dropped the season opener to the Rangers of Drew University, 9-0, in non-conference action at the Simon Forum on Thursday evening.

The Rangers (7-1), will serve as one the toughest opponents the Cannoneers will face all season, having returned several all-conference performers from last year's squad.

In No. 1 doubles, the tandem of Ben Erickson and Simon Salazar battled to the end before falling to the top-ranked duo in the Landmark Conference.

In singles play, Salazar highlighted the Cannoneers efforts – taking Drew's Bryce Kennedy the distance before dropping the match 8-7 (8-6).

UP NEXT – Pratt continues their season on Friday, March 23, when they travel to New Jersey to challenge the Scarlet Raiders of Rutgers-Newark at the Golden Dome Courts. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m.
