Valley Forge Rallies Past Women's Soccer, 3-1

Phoenixville, P.A. - September 22, 2018  - Despite holding a lead for most of the first half, the Pratt Institute women's soccer team was unable to hold off University of Valley Forge, dropping the contest, 3-1.

With the loss, Pratt falls to 0-6-1, while the Patriots improve to 3-3 on the season.

It only took four minutes and thirty one seconds for the Cannoneers to get on the board. Junior Erin Lutz stole the ball from UVF inside the box and scored the game's first goal. Lutz has scored in back-to-back matches for Pratt, matching her goal total from her sophomore season.

The Cannoneers held the lead until the 38th minute, when the Patriots; Alondra Hernandez-Garduno was able to shoot past Pratt goalkeeper, Courtney Dreher, and tie the game at 1-1.

UVF carried their momentum into the second half, as they scored in the 47th minute, and then once more in the game's final minutes.

The Patriots were edged in corner opportunities in the win, with Pratt holding a 4-2 advantage, and despite the Cannoneers taking more shots in the first half, UVF finished the game with 11 shots to Pratt's seven.

Giselle Rojas finished the game with five saves in the winning effort, while Dreher registered six saves for the Cannoneers.
