Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. - September 7, 2018 - The Pratt Institute women's tennis team secured a win in their home opener against Mt. St. Mary (NY), Friday night, winning 5-4 at the Pratt ARC.
With the victory, the Cannoneers improves to 3-0, while the Knights move to 0-1 on the season. The women's tennis team is off to its best start since the 2013 campaign, when Pratt won its first seven matches.
Pratt's Melanie Kania defeated her Mt. St. Mary opponent, 6-2, 6-0, from the second singles position, as well as winning her doubles match with her partner, Amanda Twu, 9-8, 7-2 in the first doubles pair.
Amy Young and Morgan Ferweda were both dominant in their singles matches from the 3rd and 4th slots. Young cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory, and Ferweda knocked off her opponent, 6-1, 6-3.
Up Next: The Cannoneers will look to stay undefeated as they travel to Albertus Magnus on Sunday, September 9th. First serve with the Falcons is scheduled at 1:00 PM.
