Comeback Effort Falls Just Short vs Cobleskill

BROOKLYN, NY– The Pratt Institute's women's soccer team (1-1) had a valiant comeback effort but fell just short as SUNY Cobleskill defeated the Cannoneers 4-2 on Sunday afternoon.

Midway though the first half, Cobleskill struck for two goals to take a 2-0 lead. The Cannoneers stepped its defense up over the final 15 minutes of the half, allowing just one shot as the Tigers took a 2-0 lead into halftime.

With 32 minutes remaining in regulation, Carly Klein made the defensive play of the game, making a diving stop off a penalty kick to keep the deficit at 2-0.

With just under 16 minutes remaining, Audrey Howard put home her first goal of the season to get Pratt on the board and within one.

Not even three minutes later, Emma Farkas connected for her first career goal off a pass from Min Oliveri to tie the game at two.

Cobleskill regained the lead with eight minutes remaining off a Cannoneers turnover to take a 3-2 advantage.  The Tigers would add a late goal with just over a minute remaining to take the match, 4-2.

In addition to the outstanding penalty kick save, Klein recorded seven saves in total in net. The Cannoneers had seven shots in the game with six coming in the second half.
