BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's women's soccer team (2-4) used two late second half goals to earn its second win of the season, 3-1 over Valley Forge on Saturday afternoon.
After a scoreless first 39 minutes, Valley Forge got on the board first, scoring a goal at 39:55 to take a 1-0 lead.Â
With under two minutes remaining until half,
Harper McVeyÂ
(West Orange, NJ)Â boomed a 40-yard strike right over Valley Forge's goalie to tie the game at one.
With just under 12 minutes remaining in regulation, McVey put home her second goal of the game off a corner kick from
Erin Lutz (Doylestown, PA) to give the Cannoneers a 2-1 lead.
Five minutes later,
Lily Gaunt (Wethersfield, CT)Â connected for her second goal of the season to give Pratt the 3-1 victory.
In net,
Casey O'Connor (Tupper Lake, NY) earned her first career win.
Pratt finished with a season high 32 shots with 16 being on net.
The Cannoneers return to action on Sunday when it travels to Sarah Lawrence for a 7 pm start.
