Women’s Soccer Ends Season in C2C Quarterfinals

The Cannoneers produced eight wins and 51 goals -- the most since restarting the program in 2016.

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Entering the 2022 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Championship as a program-best No. 5 seed, the Pratt Institute women's soccer team saw their 2022 campaign come to a close with an 11-0 defeat to No. 4-seeded Salisbury on Thursday afternoon at Christopher Newport University.

The Cannoneers conclude their season at level .500 at 8-8 overall – the most wins and goals scored (51) since restarting the program in 2016. First-year Katherine Thomsen finishes her rookie season 28 goals scored, that currently ranks third in the nation.

Salisbury got on the board early with a strike from distance in the opening minute from Kasey Lamb. The Sea Gulls would score five first-half goals and tacked on six more in the second stanza with nine different goal scorers in total.

Pratt was held to three shots with Grace Florence, Anna Wilson, and Mia Wong all recording a shot. First-year Emma Gaspari made a season-high 15 saves in a losing effort in goal.

Salisbury moves on to face host and No. 1 seed Christopher Newport tomorrow at 4 p.m.
