BROOKLYN, N.Y. — Senior Patrick O'Gorman of the men's basketball team and junior Siena Sujitno of the women's soccer and track and field teams were named the Pratt Institute Student-Athletes of the Year as the Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated its annual awards ceremony, The Charlies, last Saturday evening.
O'Gorman repeated as Male Student-Athlete of the Year following a senior campaign where he led the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference in assists (4.3) and free throw percentage (81.1%) and was third in scoring (16.1)and steals (1.7) en route to receiving All-C2C First Team accolades – his third All-C2C honor after being named twice to the Second Team.
Sujitno was named Female Student-Athlete of the Year after leading C2C soccer with 20 goals scored and finishing fifth in the nation in goals per game (1.43). On the track, she was consistently one of the highest-placing finishers, regularly securing top 10 finishes in the 60- and 100-meter dashes.
Cameron Windt of the men's basketball team was selected as Male Newcomer of the Year after leading the C2C in scoring (17.4) as a rookie and finishing 18th in Division III in made three-pointers per game (3.0), and earning All-C2C Second Team accolades.
Pallavi Verghese was picked as Female Newcomer of the Year after leading the women's tennis team to a perfect 11-0 record going undefeated in singles and doubles in those matches. She also scored an upset of a seeded player at the ITA Regional Championship.
Ava Hunwick of the women's soccer and track and field teams was given the SAAC Leadership Award.
Emma Gaspari of the women's soccer team was presented with the inaugural Ariana Dillon Memorial Award in memory of the dual-sport student-athlete and architecture major who passed away earlier this year as she was about to commence her fourth year at Pratt. It will be presented to a student-athlete majoring in architecture who maintains a GPA of 3.5 or higher and demonstrates a dedication and commitment to both athletics and the Pratt community as a whole as Ariana did.
