STUDENT EMPLOYMENT & INTERNSHIPS

The Pratt Institute Athletics and Recreation department is the largest-on-campus employer of students. We are committed to providing opportunities and access for the Pratt Institute student through on-campus employment, leadership development, professional refinement, and personal growth. 

We value our student-employees who help provide, maintain, supervise, and contribute to the overall operations of the ARC, the day-to-day administration of the Athletic office, the operations of the events within the facility, and so much more. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and creative students who share our values of wellness and community for the Pratt Community at the ARC. 

As an institution rooted in tangible learning and exploration, we also offer a select amount of internships open to individuals in pursuit of knowledge and experience for a career in Athletics and Recreation, or in specifically defined role. Internships are open to Pratt Students and Non-Pratt Students.

STUDENT-EMPLOYMENT PROCESS

We encourage ALL interested applicants to begin the process VERY early as positions and shifts reach capacity very quickly. We advise all students to visit and familiarize themselves with the Pratt Student-Employment site, especially the required documents needed and process needed for a successful application. 
  • Positions for the Fall semester will begin in April (prior academic year)
  • Positions for the Winter Break Period will begin in November.
  • Positions for the Spring semester will begin in November (prior semester)
  • Positions for the Summer Break Period will begin in April.
*Application acceptance dependent on position availability and successful interview process.

PRATT ATHLETICS AND RECREATION INTERNSHIPS

The Pratt Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation is an integral part of the Institute. 

Pratt Athletics values the lessons that have long been taught by athletic participation: the pursuit of excellence through personal development and teamwork; ethical and responsible behavior on the field and off; adherence to the spirit of rules as well as to their letter; leadership and strength of character; sportsmanship, respect for one's opponents, acceptance of victory with humility, acknowledgment of defeat with grace, respect for the value of cross-cultural understanding and acceptance.  Within these lessons to its students, Pratt Athletics instills habits that will lead students to better, healthier and successful lives.

Pratt Athletics and Recreation Internships are available to Pratt Students and Non-Pratt Students.

  • Professional Experience - All interns will work on projects with the ability to apply their in-class room learnings to real-world situations and opportunities. Interns will be asked to embrace ownership of their tasks and responsibilities at the highest level.
  • Professional Development - Interns will be given the freedom and space to explore how their professional skills relate to the current demands of the industry and to build and refine their skills for an improved career in the marketplace. This includes the flexibility to learn various disciplines and areas of and within athletics and recreation.
