Jane DaCosta

Jane DaCosta brings a wealth of experience to her role as Head Coach of the Pratt Equestrian Team.

DaCosta is a Hunter/Jumper and Hunter Jumper Trainer and the Training Coordinator at the team’s home barn, Jamaica Bay Riding Academy (JBRA). As a competitor, she was an undergraduate rider for the Long Island University/C.W. Post Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Equestrian Team and an undergraduate and alumni rider for St. John’s University IHSA Equestrian Team. She has also competed and shown successfully in United States Equestrian Federation Horse Shows ranging from “C” to “AA” rated shows for 28 years in Equitation, Hunters and Jumpers. Her education as a trainer includes the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Trainer Certification Program, where she took part in the USHJA Trainer Certification Clinic with the renowned Olympian George Morris in September 2011. DaCosta passed the USHJA Trainer Certification Exam in 2012.
