Kelly's 20 years of experience began when she developed her passion for horses as a young child on her cousin's farm in Cairo, NY.
Kelly has been a member of the Jamaica Bay community since 2014 when she began volunteering with the Seaside Therapeutic Riding program. She very quickly became an invaluable member of the Riding Academy's team. Owing to the depth of her knowledge, skill, and commitment, Kelly is entrusted with all facets of equine care. Her responsibilities at the stable include horse husbandry, stable management, and trail guide. Where she shines brightest, though, is in the training arena; her unique blend of Dressage and Equitation training help both horse and rider achieve their maximum potential together through connection and balance.
A student of Jamaica Bay, Kelly has worked with multiple influential instructors and trainers over the years including but not limited to, Razieme Iborra and Maria Danza. She has attended clinics by Micheal Page and Chris Mitchell, and most importantly has received invaluable tutelage from Anthony Danza. Kelly also has extensive knowledge in training and schooling of green horses; she and her first horse/project “Reeses” competed in the 2’6” jumper ring in their initial outing. Kelly has a passion for showing, and she's looking forward to her own return to the show ring in the coming years, as well as working with the Pratt Equestrian team and guiding Jamaica Bay students who are interested in showing, all in the pursuit of their own passions.
Kelly is a graduate of The Mary Louis Academy in Jamaica Estates, Queens, NY, and has attended classes at Stony Brook University.
