BROOKLYN -- In college basketball's longest-dating rivalry, Pratt Institute men's basketball fell to Cooper Union, 58-36, Thursday night in men's basketball play in non-conference play at the ARC.
Cooper Union went into halftime with a 25-17 lead, but a 10-0 Hawks run early in the second half put Cooper on top 42-23 in ultimately distancing the visitors.
Cannoneers guard Sam Peterson led all players with six assists, shooting a team-best 5-12 from the floor for 11 points. Freshman forward Ari Grant poured in a team-high 14 points, grabbing 11 rebounds for his third straight double-double.
Hawks forward Dominik Goj led Cooper Union with a game-best 22 points on 10-18 shooting, hauling in a team-high eight rebounds. Demetri Ingilis and Yevgeniy Yesilevskiy followed with 10 points each as the Hawks improved to 9-3.
At 2-7, Pratt completes its three-game, five day-homestand by playing host to RISD on Sunday at noon. The Cannoneers Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Champion women's tennis team will be honored in a ceremony at halftime of the game.
