BRONXVILLE, NY -- Sarah Lawrence took a 44-19 first half lead in locking up its 72-43 win over Pratt Friday night in non-conference men's basketball play.
Ari Grant led all players with 20 points for Pratt, while Cannoneers point guard Sam Peterson added 11 points as Pratt dropped to 2-3.
Sarah Lawrence set the tone early, scoring the first seven points of the game. Later in the half, the Gryphons fueled a 10-1 run capped by a Stefan Radosavljevic jumper that gave the Gryphons a 25-9 lead inside the 9:00 mark of the half.
A Peterson layup later pulled Pratt within 25-17 just inside the 6:00 mark, but Sarah Lawrence scored 15 straight on the heels of a pair of Wyatt Rocheleau jumpers to lift the Gryphons to a 44-21 halftime lead.
A 15-0 Gryphons run midway through the second half propelled the home team to a 72-43 win.
Grant scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed his team-best nine rebounds in 30 minutes, while Nicholas Lensander added six points and seven rebounds.
Pratt falls to 2-3 while the Gryphons improve to 2-2. The Cannoneers return to play Sunday at 2:00 at Albany Pharmacy.
