MORRISTOWN, NJ -- Pratt Institute women's volleyball improved to 10-1 with a sweep of the College of St. Elizabeth tri-match, besting the host Screaming Eagles and King's (NY) College, both by the score of 3-0.
"We were able to secure the wins over both team in straight sets," said head coach Patricia Keenan.
For the second straight day, the Cannoneers earned a 3-0 win over a tri-match's host team by way of a pivotal second-set overtime win, besting St. Elizabeth by scores of 25-19, 26-24 and 25-16. Pratt earned its third win in three tries over Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference foe King's (NY) College by scores of 25-12, 25-19, 25-22, today's win coming in a non-league tilt.
The wins wrap up a 3-1 weekend for the Cannoneers after besting host Gwynedd Mercy University 3-0 and falling to Wells College 3-0 on Saturday.
Added Keenan, "We look forward to focusing on improving our reaction time and communication throughout the week as we prepare for a big match against the College of New Rochelle this Saturday."
At 10-1 and tied for first place in the HVIAC at 3-0, Pratt takes the week off before a battle for league supremacy at New Rochelle, also tied for atop the league standings. The Cannoneers take on the host Blue Angels Saturday at 11:00 a.m. before squaring off with the Culinary Institute of America at 1 p.m.
