QUEENS – Sophomore center Khari Jones (Queens, NY/Campus Magnet) came off the bench to register his fifth career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds, but Pratt was unable to overcome a sluggish start and fell to Vaughn College, 78-51 on Thursday evening in a Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.
Freshman guard Isaac Green (St. Augustine, FL/St. Augustine) added eight points and four rebounds for Pratt but the Cannoneers failed to have multiple players register double figures for only the second time this season.
The loss snapped Pratt's two-game winning streak as the Cannoneers fell to 4-4 overall and 0-2 in HVIAC play.
Vaughn took the lead early in the first half and never looked back, outscoring the Cannoneers 41-20 over the game's first 20 minutes. Pratt's 20-point output was the second lowest total of any half this season.
HVIAC co-Player of the Week Michael Pena lead Vaughn with 14 points and six rebounds. Ian Parker and Jessie Rosario each added 12 points for Vaughn, who improved to 12-3 overall and remain perfect in HVIAC play (5-0).
Pratt hits the road for a pair of HVIAC matchups at Culinary Institute of American and SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry on Saturday and Sunday before returning to the Pratt ARC for five consecutive home games to close out the 2015-16 regular season.
