Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Pratt falls at Sarah Lawrence

YONKERS, NY – Pratt Institute men's soccer fell at Sarah Lawrence, 7-3, on Saturday at Tibbets Brook Park. Pratt dropped to 1-3 overall, while Sarah Lawrence improved to 3-3.

Sophomore Miles Wright netted a brace for the Cannoneers, while Bryan Shim's strike late in the contest was his fourth of the season. Junior Bubby Vernon recorded seven saves for the visitors.

With the score tied at 1-1 at intermission, Sarah Lawrence exploded with four goals in a span of three minutes, featuring a hat trick by Colin Berg. Pratt responded with Wright's second score of the evening, an unassisted strike following a nifty solo move on his defender in the 60th minute.

Sarah Lawrence would strike for two more goals in the 64th and 66th minute, respectively, before Bryan Shim would conclude the scoring in the 81st to make the final score 7-3 in favor of the Gryphons.

"The problem with this loss is it's a result of psychological lapses," Coach Jonas Worth stated after the game. "After being even with them the entire half, we switched off for five minutes and it turned the game upside down. The score line was very misleading, but that's another lesson for a young team. Thankfully, we have a very important conference game in the morning to start changing right away."

Up Next: The Cannoneers begin their Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) schedule as they travel to face Webb Institute on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
