BROOKLYN, N.Y. – October 10, 2018 - The Pratt Institute men's soccer team suffered a loss to Berkeley College (NY) Wednesday evening at Aviator Field, 9-1.
With the defeat, the Cannoneers fell to 3-7, while the Knights improve to 6-4-1.
In net, Pratt's Carter Boliek recorded nine saves in a busy outing, while his counterpart, Yusuf Figueroa finished with two saves, as the Knights out-shot the Cannoneers 26-5.
Berkeley had a dominant first half, scoring seven goals, with their first two coming in the first seven minutes of the match. Pratt was unable to register a shot nor a corner kick in the first frame.
The second half was more competitive for the Cannoneers as they earned three corner kicks, and recorded five shots, while only allowing two more goals for the Knights.
A little more than 50 minutes into the match, Pratt's Juan Gomez took a shot on goal from 20 yards out, and blasted the ball into the back of the net to put his team on the board.
Up Next: The Cannoneers will look to get back on track, as they travel to Boston, MA on Saturday, October 13, to face Fisher. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
