Phoenixville, P.A. - September 22, 2018 - Despite an impressive effort by freshman goalkeeper, Carter Boliek, and two late goals from the Cannoneers, the Pratt Institute men's soccer team lost to University of Valley Forge, 3-2 on Saturday afternoon.
Boliek finished the match with 10 saves, as the Patriots out-shot the Cannoneers, 17-11
Both teams went into halftime scoreless, with Valley Forge taking eight shots to Pratt's three.
The Patriots dominated the second half for the first 32 minutes, with goals coming in the 53rd minute, the 73rd and the 77th minute.
With less than 11 minutes remaining in the match, Pratt's Natt Slober drew a penalty from a Patriot defender, and was able to convert the penalty kick to cut into the deficit.
Then in the 84th minute, a shot on goal by Pratt forced Valley Forge goalie, Jacob Kelly, to make a save but Ofer Shouval collected the deflection and scored on an open net for his first goal of the 2018 campaign.
The Pratt comeback ran out of time, as Valley Forge's defense was able to hold on to the one-goal lead.
