BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (4-3) defeated Touro College 73-50 to earn its fourth win of the season on Monday evening.
Griffin Levine (Dallas, TX) paced the Cannoneers with 20 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
King Turnbull (Houston, TX) added 14 points and three rebounds while
John Delgado (Queens, NY) finished with a career high 10 points and three rebounds.
The Cannoneers scored nine of the first 12 points to take a six point lead five minutes into the game. Over the course of the next 15 minutes, despite shooting just 34% from the field, Pratt's lead would continue to be grow as it lead 32-22 at halftime.
In the half, Pratt held Touro to just 30% from the floor and 2-12 from three point range while forcing nine turnovers.
Pratt blew the game open to start the second half, going on a 17-4 run to take a 49-26 lead, its largest of the game. The Cannoneers continued to build its lead over the next five minutes, outscoring Touro by seven to take a commanding 60-30 advantage.
The Cannoneers extended its lead to as many as 31 over the final few minutes before taking the game by 23.
Pratt knocked down 12 three pointers and had 30 points contributed from the bench. Touro was held to just 32% shooting and committed 24 turnovers.Â
Pratt returns to action on Sunday when it travels to Five Towns College for a 2:30 pm tip.
