LANGHORNE, PA - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (2-5) defeated Cairn University for its first road victory of the season, 69-61 on Tuesday evening.
Patrick O'Gorman finished with a game high 22 points on 4-9 from beyond the arc. Â
Cameron Hatcher added 18 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks while
Daniel Golub pitched in with 12 points and 5 rebounds.
The first half went back and forth until 4:30 minuted remaining when Pratt ended the half on a 9-2 run to take a 30-25 lead into the break.
The second half began with the Cannoneers scoring the first five points to take a 35-25 advantage, its first double-digit lead of the game. Â Pratt's lead grew to as many as 12 however Cairn went on a 7-0 with three minutes remaining in regulation to cut the lead to 61-56.
With 1:17 remaining in the second half, Golub knocked down the dagger, hitting a corner three-pointer to up the lead to 64-56. Â Pratt would make 5 of 6 free throws over the final minute, sealing the win, 69-61.
As a team, Pratt converted 22 points off 18 turnovers and held the Highlanders to just 37.1% shooting and 6-29 from beyond the arc.
Pratt returns to action on Saturday when it hosts St. Joseph's Long Island at 4 pm.
