Men's Basketball's Season Tips Off on Saturday

BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team kicks off the 2021-22 season on Saturday when it hosts Hunter College at 1 pm in the ARC.

Pratt opens the season on Saturday in its home opener against Hunter College.  This will mark the first meeting between the two schools.

The Cannoneers look to build off a 2019-20 season that saw the program win 15 games, the most in 40 years, including its first win over an NCAA Division III program in over 20 years.

Head Coach Chris Thompson brought in nine newcomers in addition to six returners from the 2019-20 season.

Patrick O'Gorman and Arthur Zani each started in 17 games two years ago.  O'Gorman averaged 15.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 three-pointers per game.  Zani, a presence on defense, led Pratt in 2019-20 with 6.1 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game.

Hunter College comes off a 10-16 record in 2019-20 where it lost in the first round of the CUNYAC Tournament to Brooklyn College.

The season opener marks the first game in a 623 day layoff due to Covid-19.
