Men's Basketball Falls in Last Seconds to Five Towns

BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's men's basketball team (2-7) dropped a heartbreak to Five Towns College, 53-51 on Saturday afternoon.

Cameron Hatcher led the way for Pratt, finishing with 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 steals.  Patrick O'Gorman added 15 points and 3 rebounds while Julian Stoll added 7 points and 5 rebounds.

Pratt scored 8 of the first 10 points of the game to open up a quick 8-2 lead to begin the first half.  Leading 8-5, Pratt used a 7-0 run during a 3:30 stretch to open up its first double-digit lead of the game at 15-5.

The rest of the first half featured back-and-forth action with Pratt leading by as many as 13 before taking a 30-19 advantage into the halftime break.

Both teams shot well to begin the second half as the Cannoneers led by 10 halfway through the half.  The final eight minutes were controlled by Five Towns as they outscored Pratt 14-2.  With the game tied at 51, Eian Williams scored the game winning layup for Five Towns with just over four seconds remaining.

As a team, Pratt finished with 46 rebounds including 13 on the offensive end and helf Five Towns without a three-pointer, finishing 0-9.

The Cannoneers return to action on Wednesday when it travels to Sarah Lawrence College for a 7 pm tip.
