BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's women's volleyball team (7-3) rallied in the final two sets over Brooklyn College for its fifth straight win, 3-2 (25-27, 25-22, 18-25, 26-24, 15-13) on Tuesday evening.
Avery Toomes (Houston, TX) led the way with 45 assists and seven services aces. Â
Rose Moon (Santa Fe, NM) finished with 16Â digs, 15 kills and four service aces. Â
Olivia Julich (Philadelphia, PA) had a game high six blocks and four services aces while
Deanna Colondona (Manorville, NY) had a game high 28 digs.
After falling in the first set 27-25, Pratt rebounded in set two 25-22 to tie the match at one.Â
Brooklyn College controlled the third set, winning 25-18 to take a 2-1 advantage.
After trailing 5-2 in the fourth set, Pratt ran off nine straight points to take an 11-5 lead. The Bulldogs fought back to regain the lead at 17-15 however Pratt won the next two points to tie the match at 17.  Despite Brooklyn College taking the set to match point at 24-23, the Cannoneers stormed back to win the next three points and take the set, 26-24.
In the deciding fifth set, the Bulldogs were strong early, taking a commanding 11-5 lead. Â After each team split the next two points, the Cannoneers put the pedal to the medal, running off the next eight points to take it to match point at 14-12. Â Brooklyn won the next point to cut the lead to 14-13, however Julich put away the final point, giving Pratt the 3-2 victory.
As a team, Pratt finished with 84 digs, 53 kills, 49 assists and 22 services aces.
Pratt returns to action on Saturday when it hosts The King's College NY on Saturday at 12 pm.
