Women’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Night Cruising Past Yeshiva

Six different Cannoneers scored in the 11-0 triumph

MASPETH, N.Y. – The Pratt Institute women's soccer team had six different goal scorers in an 11-0 triumph over Yeshiva University on Sunday evening at Metropolitan Oval Field.

The Cannoneers conclude the regular season a game above .500 at 8-7. Yeshiva falls to 0-13.

First-year Katherine Thomsen racked up four goals to boost her tally to 28 on the season. Sophomore Grace Florence recorded her first hat-trick of the season. Emily Burak scored her first collegiate goal on her senior night. Griselda Pena-Candelario, Siena Sujitno and Mia Wong each added a score.

Thomsen opened the scoring in the fourth minute and was followed by Pena Candalario's first goal of the season in the eighth minute and Sujitno's 10th of the season in the 14th minute. Thomsen found the back of the net again to make it a 4-0 lead 15 minutes in.

Florence scored the next three goals in a span of less than 10 minutes and Thomsen tacked on two more goals to make it a 9-0 lead at the break.

Burak tallied her first collegiate goal five minutes into the second stanza and Wong capped off the scoring in the 81st minute.

The Pratt defense held Yeshiva without a shot and maintained a 31-0 shot discrepancy.

Anna Wilson, Ariana Dillon, Sujitno, and Thomsen all registered assists.

Emma Gaspari gets credit for the win in goal and her third shutout of the season.

Pratt heads to Newport News, Virginia for the 2022 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship hosted by Christopher Newport University. First-round action begins on Thursday, November 3 with seeding and matchups to be announced early this week.
