BRONX, N.Y. – First-year Katherine Thomsen scored five times in leading the Pratt Institute women's soccer team to a 7-1 triumph over Lehman College on Friday afternoon at the South Field.
Siena Sujitno and Kaila Rodriguez each scored a goal as the Cannoneers improve to 6-3 overall, while Lehman falls to 0-5.
Thomsen scored just over two minutes into the contest and found the back of the net again in the 10th minute, followed quickly by Sujitno in the 11th minute for an early 3-0 lead that stood until halftime.
Thomsen completed the hat trick in the 51st minute before the Lightning spoiled the clean sheet in the 70th minute. But Pratt closed out the match with three goals over a span of five minutes with Thomsen adding a pair in the 77th and 80th minutes and Rodriguez scoring her first collegiate goal in the 82nd minute.
Sujitno also added two assists for a five-point afternoon. Grace Florence and Anna Wilson also picked up an assist each.
Pratt outshot Lehman, 29-3, and held an 11-0 edge in corners.
Thomsen's five goals in a single game and 20 goals on the season are the most by a Cannoner since the women's soccer program was restarted in 2016. The first-year also currently leads Division III in goals scored.
The sixth win also marks the most in a season since 2016.
Pratt returns to the pitch on Monday, October 10th to host SUNY College at Old Westbury at Randall's Island at 6 p.m.
