O’Gorman Named to TCNJ All-Tournament Team as Men’s Basketball Falls to Penn State-Altoona in Consolation

Patrick O'Gorman scored a team-high 16 against Penn State Altoona

EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. – Patrick O'Gorman scored 16 points as the Pratt Institute men's basketball team dropped an 84-66 decision to Penn State-Altoona in the TCNJ Tip-Off Tournament consolation game on Saturday afternoon.

Averaging 10.5 points over the weekend, O'Gorman was named to the All-Tournament Team after the championship game. He also filled the stat sheet in the consolation shooting 5-for-11 and collecting a trifecta of steals and assists.

Also joining him scoring in double figures was Ace Bibbs who shot 4-of-8 and finished with 12 points. In total, 10 different Cannoneers contributed a made field goal. Cameron Hatcher flirted with a double-double with nine points, seven boards, three steals and two assists. Aaron Nisbett chipped in eight points on 4-of-5 shooting.

Penn State (1-3) was paced by a pair of 20-point efforts from PJ Charles and Robbie Hicks. The Lions also received a 10-assist, 10-rebound double-double from Andruw Harman.

The gold-and-black turned in third-best shooting effort of the season shooting 38 percent, but could keep pace with a Penn State squad that finished at a 53 percent clip.

PSU led from the opening tip and grew their lead to nine midway through the first, but couldn't extend to double digits. Pratt closed the period on an 9-6 spurt powered by a pair of triples from O'Gorman and one from Hatcher to trail by just two at the break, 36-34. But the Lions opened the second stanza scoring the first nine points to jumpstart a 20-2 run to pull away for good.

Pratt (1-5) returns to the ARC for their home opener on Tuesday, November 22 tipping off at 7 p.m.
