Women’s Volleyball Falls to Christopher Newport in C2C Quarterfinals

Cannoneers to face Mount Mary tomorrow at 11 am in fifth-place game.

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The No. 6-seeded Pratt Institute women's volleyball team was eliminated from the 2022 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Championship with a straight-set loss (25-13, 25-12, 25-13) to No. 3-seeded Christopher Newport University on Friday afternoon.

Senior Deanna Colondona led the Cannoneers (11-11) with six kills and six digs and All-C2C sophomore middle Olivia Julich had seven blocks (four solo) and two kills. Senior Rose Moon also added four kills and a block and Emily Sontag chipped in two kills and a block. 

Christopher Newport (21-11) never trailed in the contest and was led by Mackenzie Wright's 12 kills on .474 hitting and Maddie Carter also contributed a double-digit kill effort with 11. The Captains advance to the C2C Semifinals to face host and No. 2-seeded Mary Washington this evening at 6:30 p.m.

Pratt will try to conclude their 2022 campaign above .500 squaring off against No. 5-seeded Mount Mary University (8-21) in the C2C fifth-place game tomorrow at 11 a.m.
