NEW YORK – Sophomore Kylie Grant turned in a 20-point, 12-rebound double-double and senior Kinako Miyake scored in double figures as the Pratt Institute women's basketball was denied by Baruch College, 70-41, in a non-conference road test on Tuesday evening.
Tied for 12th nationally in double-doubles entering the evening, Grant recorded her sixth of the season and scored in double figures for the 13th straight game dating back to last season. Miyake scored 10 points, with four rebounds and two assists. First-year Elisa Neering grabbed 10 rebounds, her second game pulling double-figure boards.
Baruch placed three in double figures led by Mia Castillo's 17-point, 11-assist double-double, with seven rebounds.
The Bearcats shot an efficient 60 percent (12-of-20) in the first quarter and raced out to a 24-8 lead after 10 minutes to play. The Cannoneers offense found their rhythm late and shot 47 percent (8-for-17) over the final 10 minutes to win the final quarter, 17-14.
Pratt wraps up the fall semester traveling to the Garden State on Saturday, December 10 to square off with Saint Elizabeth University at 1 p.m.
