BROOKLYN, NY - The Pratt Institute's women's basketball team (5-10) used big performances from
Sophie Bischoff and
Katy O'Connor to earn the win over Maine Fort Kent, 67-60 on Saturday afternoon.
Sophie Bischoff finished with a season high 25 points on 12-23 from the floor.  Bischoff also added 11 points and a block.
Katy O'Connor added 18 points, 19 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Â
Kylie Grant finished with 10 points an 8 rebounds.
Trailing 8-5 early in the first quarter, the Cannoneers rolled off a 14-0 run over a six minute span to gain a 19-8 advantage.
The second quarter was played pretty evenly by both teams as Pratt outscored Maine Fort Kent by one to take a 36-27 lead into the halftime break.
Midway through the third quarter, the Bengals cut the lead to just two, however the Cannoneers used an 11-0 run over the next three minutes to retake a 52-39 lead.
Pratt's largest lead of the game came with 3 minutes remaining in regulation, 66-47. Â The Bengals ended up scoring 13 of the final 14 points of the game however Pratt held on for the 67-60 victory.
Pratt returns to action on February 12 when it takes part in the C2C Classic.
